Time Capsule is a decentralized analogue of a traditional time capsule, built entirely on blockchain technology. The product enables users to store encrypted messages on a public network and securely “send them into the future.” The message text is encrypted using algorithms such as AES and placed inside a smart contract. The content remains visible but cannot be decrypted until the key is revealed on a predetermined release date, ensuring absolute confidentiality despite the transparency of the blockchain.
Challenge
The main challenge was to create a cryptographically secure time capsule where encrypted data is stored on a public blockchain, remains untouchable and unreadable until the designated unveiling date, and can be accessed without trusting a centralized authority.
Scope of Work

- The display of a screen with a timer is implemented, which counts to the date of the capsule opening.

What We Did
We developed a fully decentralized capsule system where encrypted messages remain publicly stored but inaccessible until their scheduled reveal date. The solution ensures long-term message preservation, complete tamper resistance, and privacy without relying on a central party. The secure architecture allows any user to view the stored capsule and verify its authenticity, while only the owner can decrypt it at the appointed time. This achieves a reliable and transparent way to preserve digital memories, statements, and documents directly on the blockchain.
